Brian King

Brian’s passion, energy and tireless efforts for Hospice Waikato since he joined the Foundation in 2011 have been vital in raising both funds and awareness for the service.

After making Hamilton his home in 1979, Brian, together with two business partners, enjoyed a very successful stint in hospitality, establishing Gainsborough House, then Julian’s and Eliza’s.   

In 1991, he joined Harcourts in Hamilton, and again success followed.  After winning numerous sales awards, Brian moved on from selling to management, overseeing all residential sales offices.  Auctioneering came next and eventually co-ownership where he held the position of General Manager, responsible for all of the company’s divisions – Residential, Commercial, Rural and Lifestyle as well as Property Management. In 2009, in recognition of his contribution to the Harcourts Brand, Brian was inducted into the Harcourts Hall of Fame.  The knowledge Brian has of the real estate industry is unparalleled and provides excellent governance in this area for the Foundation.

Brian dedicates as much of his time as he can to helping numerous local charities.

Brian is truly dedicated to helping the community and loves to ‘give back’. He finds it an honour to be involved with good people who make a difference in people’s lives.
